For people that know me if you had told me 3 years ago I would be wearing cowgirl boots now I would have called you a lie. I grew up in a one red light little country town but growing up I was the farthest thing from country. Sure I grew up listening to country music, shooting my daddys guns and riding in pick up trucks ( which i prefer to a car any day of the week) but I wasn't what you would call country. I thought ripped jeans looked trashy, that cowgirl boots were ugly and that drinking and smoking were the worst things ever. My little sister was the exact opposite. Her boyfriend drove a jacked up Toyota 4 Runner (which I have grown very fond of the past couple of years), was a tobacco chewin, beer drinkin, crazy as they come redneck. Needless to say we did not get along very well and I couldn't understand what my sister saw in a guy like that. After I graduated high school I wanted to move as far away from my country town as I could for college. I wanted to be away from all the rednecks and drama that a small town brings. Well I moved to Mississippi and started college down there. I was there about 6 months when I realized I missed that small town more than I thought I would. So what did I do? I packed my happy ass up, loaded my car and headed for home. When I moved back most of my friends had either moved away for college and were always working and going to school so I didn't get to really hang out with them. I was sitting at home one night and my little sister ( yes little sister, do not judge me) asked me if i wanted to go to a bonfire and go riding with her and some of her friends that night. I was thinking that i probably wouldn't have fun with a bunch of rednecks but figured why the hell not cause I had nothing better to do. So I went and surprisingly I had fun. If you have never been down a dirt road in a big truck than you should try it, there is something so peaceful and relaxing about it. Well any way back to the story. I started going out with them more and came to realize that maybe all rednecks weren't stupid and crazy like I thought. And then I bought my first pair of cowgirl boots and i was in love. Before I knew it I was choosing jeans and boots over dresses and heels. I was drinking beer and smoking (yes I know it's bad but if I'm gonna die I might as well die happy), I was buying ripped up jeans and looking forward to going to my first mud bogg ( if you have never been to one then find one near you and go cause I promise it is something you would never forget). I have recently tried spot lighting (if you don't what that is then google it) and I must say it is fun. This is getting kinda long so I'm gonna sum it up for on how I have turned very country the past few years.
- My room went from being all cute girly colors to camo and hunter orange.
-When I think about going shopping now I immediately think of Academy or Bass Pro versus American Eagle and Hollister.
- When I go to Wal-Mart I always have to go to the hunting section to see if they have anything new.
-Instead of going to clubs and movies I would rather be on a dirt road or around a bonfire.
-I notice every jacked up truck on the road that I pass.
-I don't want a night in shinning armor, I want a country boy in boots.
- That boyfriend of my sisters that i use to hate has come to be like a brother to me. ( I still want to kill him sometimes).
- If I am driving down a back road I look for deer on the side of the road or off in a field and about put my sister through the windshield when i slam on brakes and back up just to see how big they are.
There are so many more but I have a lot to do so I should get my butt up.
This is a picture of some really cute wedges I bought that I swore I would wear. Well.....they have sat in my closet for 2 months and I have still never worn them. My boots are so much more comfortable and a lot cuter to. Don't ya think?
